Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) took a drink of water during his GOP rebuttal to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address. No seriously, that’s the news story here. But in a day and age when social media can turn any small gaff into a potential PR nightmare, Rubio’s thirst-quenching act has gone viral.

While stating the GOP’s rebuttal, which advocated for a smaller role of government, Rubio began to wipe his mouth with his hand and lick his lips before eventually he gave in to his thirst and grabbed a quick drink of water.

Anticipating a social media response, Rubio posted a twitpic of his drink of choice, Poland Springs water, on his official Twitter account @marcorubio.

The Senator was “just glad the water was nearby” Rubio told CBS This Morning Wednesday. No matter how this little event turns out, it certainly provides Poland Springs a nice bit of publicity, and who knows, maybe they have even found a new spokesperson. —Hal Sundt

What a waste of $100,000 on College Tuition! Rubio has about as much class as a dead pig. He has no bases to his "proposed" argument. His remarks throughout was only that he opposes everything that Obama exclaimed. Still, many of the things that he championed were announced by Obama. Hook him up with the nearest Used Car Dealership.
