Sen. John Fetterman Calls Democrats Who Support Anti-Israel Protesters ‘Crazy’

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) called anti-Israel protestors “a——” in response to progressives who have attacked Israel. Amidst the Gaza War crisis, protests have launched across the United States including brand boycotts and marches in major cities.

“It is not appropriate or legal or helpful to advance your argument if you show up in a Starbucks with a bullhorn and start yelling at people,” Fetterman said in an interview with Fox Digital. Starbucks is one of the major corporations that progressives have boycotted in support of Palestine.

Fetterman added that these protests don’t “make you noble.” Although Fetterman criticized these protests, the Pennsylvania senator clarified that he supports the right to protest and to have differing opinions.

“It’s very American to protest and to do that in the appropriate way,” he said. “I absolutely support that.”

Fetterman said the issue is when protests “disrupt lives,” such as the large-scale marches that block public streets and highways. Several of these types of protests were seen in major cities such as Los Angeles in recent weeks.

“There could be people that [are in] an emergency, or they’re going to be late for work,” Fetterman stated.

Fetterman has publicly shown support for Israel. The senator also said he was “appalled” by how many Democrats did not immediately condemn Iran for its attack on Israel.

“I was appalled that there were members of our party—Democrats that can’t even condemn Iran. That’s crazy,” he said.

The comments are part of a notable shift in tone from Fetterman, who has long been a progressive hero.

At the start of April, Fetterman said in an interview with The New York Post that he was “not woke” and that squatters “have no rights.” After the interview, many of Fetterman’s top employees resigned.
