Sen. Cory Booker (D-New Jersey) and Rosario Dawson have ended their relationship of over two years. The two reportedly remain good friends.
They first met at a fundraiser for a mutual friend in 2018 but didn’t hit it off right away. They met again months later, and Dawson later reflected that he was “so charming” when they met again. “It’s not like that translates to being some super smooth kind of guy,” she cracked, “That’s not his style.”
While they began their relationship balancing frequent time apart given their busy schedules, Dawson eventually moved into the Senator’s Newark home sometime in 2020 after a period of quarantining separately due to Dawson’s parents being vulnerable to Covid-19.
When Booker was re-elected to the Senate in November 2020, Dawson said she was “proud of and grateful for” him, and confirmed she cast a ballot for him. “I got to vote for you here in New Jersey and am so glad that you overwhelmingly and rightfully won your seat again,” Dawson also wrote in her social media post.
Rumors had first surfaced that the couple split last fall, but it was not confirmed until now. Neither Booker nor Dawson have made any public comments on the ending relationship.
