Seinfeld's Uncle Leo, Len Lesser, Dies

Len Lesser, 88, famous for his role as Uncle Leo on the hit show, Seinfeld, died in Burbank, California on Wednesday after suffering from cancer-related pneumonia.

"Heaven got a great comedian and actor today," Lesser's daughter Michele said in a statement. "The outpouring of sympathy we've already received has been amazing and is so greatly appreciated." In addition to Michele, Lesser is also survived by son David and grandchildren Jonathan, Kayla and Mayah.

"Jerry! Hello!" was Lesser's catchphrase as Uncle Leo on the iconic "show about nothing," but the actor's legacy far exceeds his stint on Seinfeld. Over the course of his 60 year career, he had over 500 film, television and stage appearances, including a performance as Abe in Clint Eastwood's 1976 hit, The Outlaw Josey Wales. —KIMBERLY STEELE
