Secret Service Agent Assigned To Naomi Biden Opens Fire During Attempted Carjacking In D.C.
A Secret Service agent who was assigned to protect Naomi Biden, President Joe Biden’s granddaughter, fired his gun several times during an attempted car break-in.
Three people were spotted by the agent at 11:58 p.m. on Sunday in Georgetown when they smashed the window, but it seems that none were hit.
It is unsure whether these people knew that the car belonged to Naomi’s agents and no arrests have been made.
The Secret Service agent was walking outside in the neighborhood when they saw the crime occur. After the shots were fired, the three people immediately fled the scene in a red vehicle. It is believed that Naomi did not witness the incident.
There is currently a regional lookout for the perpetrators and an investigation is being conducted by the Secret Service and the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.
A spokesman representing the agents announced, “Secret Service agents encountered possibly three individuals breaking a window on a parked and unoccupied government vehicle. During this encounter, a federal agent discharged a service weapon and it is believed no one was struck.”
Car thefts and carjackings have been on the rise this year, as over 750 carjackings and 6,000 stolen vehicles have been reported.
Naomi is the oldest daughter of Hunter Biden and Kathleen Buhle. She has two siblings, Maisy Biden and Finnegan Biden.
Her wedding in 2022 to Peter Neal was held at the White House, marking the first presidential granddaughter to be wed there.
