The second trailer for the much-anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy sequel is as much plot-vague as the first, but highlights the film’s entertainment factor.
Set to Sweet’s 1974 single “Fox on the Run,” the trailer shows Rocket Raccoon try to explain to Baby Groot, not to hit a button that will detonate a nuclear bomb and kill everyone, after which Groot repeats “I am Groot,” while almost touching the button.
Then we go to what looks like a therapy session with Chris Pratt‘s Star Lord, Zoe Saldana‘s Gamora, and Dave Bautista‘s Drax the Destroyer, in which the alien moderator tells that Star Lord has sexual feelings for Gamora. Drax just laughs and insists it is his turn to be analyzed.
The current and future trailers for the film promise to keep the plot under wraps. “With Guardians, [fans] really go through every single little shot and try to figure out what the movie’s about. And there’s a lot of mysteries in Guardians 2,” says director James Gunn. “We were talking about how much to give away — and we’re not going to give away very much.”
The film is set to debut in theaters on May 5, 2017. See the trailer below.
