HBO Max’s highly-acclaimed black comedy-drama show The White Lotus will be set in Asia for its third season. Previously, the show was filmed and set in Maui, Hawaii and Sicily, Italy.

At the end of season two, the shows creator, writer and director Mike White posted a video teasing the newest location.

He said, “The first season we highlighted money and then the second season is sex and I think the third season, it would be maybe a kind of satirical and funny look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality – it feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”

Sticking with tradition, the third season will be shot at a Four Seasons hotel, but the exact one in the country has not yet been selected. The four hotels available include Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, Four Seasons Bangkok or Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai.

We’re hoping that Jennifer Coolidge‘s character Tanya will make a reappearance as she did in the previous two seasons, but that would require some creative scripting.
