On Sunday, the 27th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were added to the list of award shows looking different this year due to the pandemic. This year, the awards were pre-taped and had no host in the one-hour simulcast on TNT and TBS, highlighting the best in film and TV.
The late Chadwick Boseman won best Male Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and his co-star, Viola Davis won the female category. The Trial of the Chicago 7 took home the biggest award of the night for best Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture. Schitt’s Creek and The Crown won for best Comedy and Drama Series Ensemble.
