‘Scandal’ & ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Crossover Episode In The Works

ABC has announced a crossover episode between Shonda Rhimes shows Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder.

Scandal, starring Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, is currently in its final season, but the network is hoping to keep Pope’s character alive by giving her a role in HTGAWM. Washington shared a behind-the-scenes shot of herself dressed in character but on set of HTGAWM. She called out her friend and HTGAWM star Viola Davis – “Hey Ms @violadavis – check it out. This spot look familiar?! Where are you?”

Davis, who plays Annalise Keating on the popular show, didn’t miss a beat, and posted a pic of herself in Scandal‘s Oval Office. “Hey @KerryWashington, guess where I am?!” she said.

KERRY WASHINGTON’S uBIO: HER STORY IN HER WORDS

Rhimes made the announcement official when she tweeted out a glimpse of the script where Washington’s and Davis’ characters meet for the first time. “People. It’s happening. @petenowalk, you ready for this?” she said, adding the hashtags #TGITCrossover and #HowtoGetAwaywithScandal. No air dates have been set for the crossover episodes, but both shows return with new episodes on January 18.

Later Washington reposted the photo, as well as one of her name and character name on a placard for HTGAWM. “Tableread #ShondalandSisters #HowToGetAwayWithScandal,” she wrote alongside.
