Lark Voorhies, the one time star of the hit 90’s TV Saved By The Bell has filed for divorce from her husband of six months, Jimmy Green, TMZ reports.
The pair met through Facebook and after a year long romance tied the knot in a secret Vegas ceremony in June. At the time, Green, a music engineer, admitted to TMZ that he and Voorhies had never actually lived together. Green’s past run-ins with the law were also kept from Voorhies until the day after the wedding. Green was reportedly wanted in Tucson, Ariz., on charges of disorderly conduct and threatening from an incident with a store owner in 2012.
Voorhies’ family did not approve of the marriage and felt she could be endangered. Her mother, Patricia, in particular, had problems with her son-in-law, going so far as to file a restraining order against him in June.
Green confirmed the split saying the marriage had been troubled from the beginning and Voorhies’ mom had been a major cause of conflict. TMZ reports Green “says the only reason Lark filed for divorce first was because he didn’t know how to do it.”
Voorhies, who played Lisa Turtle in the beloved sitcom, has asked the courts to deny Green any chance for spousal support.
