Bristol Palin, 34, the daughter of former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, has recently spoken out about her ongoing battle with facial paralysis in an Instagram Stories post. The former Teen Mom star shared the update while sitting in a vehicle clad in a green sweatshirt with gold hoop earrings.

“We’re on [day] 23 of this, which is insane,” Bristol said. “Can’t move the left side of my face at all. It’s tough to blink. I can’t blow out a candle; my sisters make so much fun of me because I look crazy.”

The reality star recently revealed that her doctors believe she has a case of Bell’s Palsy – a temporary paralysis or the weakness of the facial muscles. But the treatment she’s undergone has done nothing to improve her condition.

Bristol told more than 552,000 followers on Instagram about the adjustments she’s made to her health regimen to aid her in the battle with facial paralysis. She opened up about the treatments she’s undergone, including acupuncture, massage, oxygen chamber treatment and red light therapy. She has also cut out processed foods and caffeine from her diet.

Bristol noted that she had been focusing on eliminating stress from her daily routine to avoid recreating the physical reaction to her health. “I’m sleeping pretty sound, sticking to a routine,” she said. “I’m just trying my best to get this healed.”

“I hate talking about this stuff here,” Bristol continued, discussing how talking about the topic publicly made her uncomfortable. “The only reason I wanted to post about it was that when people saw me in person, they didn’t think that something crazy had happened, so I could control at least that narrative, but everything is fine.”

Bristol wrapped up the clip by saying she was praying for a breakthrough soon.
