Sarah Palin Eats Out in NYC Two Days After Testing Positive For Covid-19

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (R) has angered New York residents after she was seen dining at multiple restaurants this week following a positive Covid-19 test on Monday. While there are technically no rules against dining at a restaurant while Covid-positive, it is recommended to isolate for at least five days to ensure the virus won’t spread to others.

That didn’t seem to be much of a concern to Palin, who has flaunted her unvaccinated status in the past and even tested positive for Covid last year. After her positive test was revealed on Monday, Palin was captured on video Tuesday night dining at the Italian restaurant Campagnola and then again on Wednesday at Elio’s. Managers for both restaurants confirmed that Palin dined there with a party those nights and that she was seated outdoors in compliance with vaccine restrictions.

Elio’s was criticized last week for allowing Palin to dine inside despite state rules forbidding unvaccinated guests to do so, but according to a city official, the restaurant will not be penalized for the action because it has to be directly observed by an inspector to count as an official violation.

Jonah Allon, a spokesman for City Hall, released a statement urging “any New Yorker who came into contact with Ms. Palin to get tested, just as we encourage all New Yorkers to get tested regularly, especially those who believe they may have been exposed to someone who tested positive for Covid-19.”

Palin has been in New York City as her defamation suit filed against the New York Times in 2017 is set to finally begin. The suit was filed over a Times editorial that incorrectly claimed a tweet made by Palin inspired the 2011 shooting where former Democratic representative Gabrielle Giffords survived being shot in the head.
