Sarah Jessica Parker is known to never disappoint with her iconic and on-theme fashion choice for the Met Gala, and this year’s Met Gala was no different. The actress stepped on the red carpet wearing a gown designed by Christopher John Rogers. The attire was composed of a bustier top, oversized bows on the sleeves, a train, and alternating black, white, and gray panels. The And Just Like That star accessorized the whole look with a fuchsia flower headpiece decorated with spewing black and white feathers. Parker and Rogers created the look to pay homage to Elizabeth Hobbs Keckley, who made history as the first black female fashion designer to work at the White House.
“What excited me the most about dressing her is how much of a fashion lover and historian she is,” Rogers said of Parker. “She’s intentional about everything that she wears.”
