At Lisa Marie Presley‘s memorial service in Graceland, her close friend Sarah Ferguson shared a few words from her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II.
The Duchess of York and ex-wife of Prince Andrew said at the ceremony on Sunday: “My late mother-in-law used to say that nothing can be said, can begin to take away the anguish and the pain of these moments because grief is the price we pay for love. And how right she was.”
This quote came from the queen’s statements after the 9/11 attacks. Her grandson, Prince William also repeated these same lines when she died last fall.

Ferguson recounted happy memories she shared with Presley, including how they called each other “sissy” and spent time together with Finley and Harper, Presley’s two daughters.
She also honored the other members of the Presley family, including Lisa Marie’s mother, Priscilla Presley, and her daughter, Riley Keough.
Lisa Marie died on January 12 after being sent to a Los Angeles hospital for a possible cardiac arrest. She was 54 years old.
Ferguson and Presley became friends when Presley moved to England after buying an estate in East Sussex in 2010. “The two hit it off from the beginning. They grew close and kept in touch even when Lisa Marie moved back to the United States,” a friend of Ferguson told Entertainment Tonight.
