Sandra Bullock hit the yellow carpet for the world premiere of her new animated picture Minions Thursday night in a stylish silver and black dress.
Bullock donned a twist on the little black dress from Stella McCartney’s Winter 2015 Collection at the premiere at the Odeon cinema in London’s Leicester Square. The frock, which featured silver paisley brocade, had an asymmetrical peplum skirt that fell above the knee. Bullock completed the outfit with a pair of black sandals and styled her hair down and parted down the middle.
Get The Look For Less: Dress, Neiman Marcus, $395. Shoes, Zappos, $79.
In Minions, a spinoff of the wildly successful Despicable Me films, Bullock voices the character of super-villain Scarlet Overkill. For the Oscar-winning actress, the role was appealing for both allowing her to tap into her more evil side and to be in something that her son could enjoy.
“She’s more like me than anything else I’ve been in. She’s evil, she’s crabby and a little bit bitchy – all the traits that I think make for a good villainness,” Bullock quipped on the red carpet to Yahoo, adding, “It’s so good to be bad. It’s nice. And I got paid for it!”
“I wanted to make something my son could see and watch and enjoy, even though he doesn’t know what I do and he doesn’t know it’s me – I can sit in the theatre and watch him,” Bullock continued, speaking of her five-year-old son, Louis Bardo Bullock. “Nothing makes me happier than hearing that boy laugh, [by] physical humor and animation so hopefully I’ll be able to do that.”
Minions hits theaters in wide release in the U.S. July 10.
