Sandra Bullock Named ‘People’ Magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman Of 2015

Sandra Bullock has been declared the World’s Most Beautiful Person of 2015 by People Magazine.

Sandra Bullock Defines Beauty

Bullock, an Oscar winning actress, covers People’s 2015 World’s Most Beautiful issue, taking the title from 2014’s honoree, Lupita Nyong’o. And, while she accepted the honor, she also cautioned readers against focusing on external beauty.

“Real beauty is quiet. Especially in this town, it’s just so hard not to say, ‘Oh, I need to look like that.’ No, be a good person, be a good mom, do a good job with the lunch, let someone cut in front of you who looks like they’re in a bigger hurry. The people I find most beautiful are the ones who aren’t trying,” Bullock told the magazine.

It’s fitting, then, that the magazine describes their cover star “real” and “radiant.”

Bullock also credits her beauty to being a mother to her son, Louis. “I was putting him to bed and told him that even when I’m old and gray and more wrinkly than I am now, I’ll till love him and want to tuck him in. And he asked why I have wrinkles, and I said, ‘Well, I hope some of them are from laughing so much.’ And he touched my face and said, ‘You’re not old, you’re just happy.’”

Bullock, who revealed she laughed when she heard People wanted her on the cover of their annual Most Beautiful issue, said that becoming a mother allowed her to let go of beating herself up about her appearance. “When I first held him, I realized what my purpose in life was. As long as I’m healthy and strong and I don’t let this mind of mine run amok with insecurities about what I am not, I can look in the mirror and like who I see,” she said.

People‘s 2015 Most Beautiful Issue

Bullock is not the only one being honored in People’s 2015 Most Beautiful Issue. Fellow actresses Aubrey Plaza, Gina Rodriguez and Sophia Bush will also appear in the issue. The young, television actresses posed for the mag makeup free to show off a bit of ‘natural’ beauty.

Also featured in the issue: starlets Vanessa Hudgens, Ariana Grande and Shay Mitchell, and Orange is the New Black breakout star Laverne Cox.
