Sam Smith crashed the American: Unstaged event in Los Angeles, Calif., Tuesday as a special guest to help close out the show.
Disclosure kicked off their arena tour at the James Corden-produced event in L.A. The British EDM duo has produced songs for Lorde and The Weeknd, but it was Smith who showed up to perform his vocals live for tracks “Latch” and “Omen.”
“SURPRISE LA xx what a night,” Smith captioned an Instagram picture from the event. “Feel very honoured to have been on stage with two of my favourite people @disclosure to kick off the first show of there tour.”
“This album of there’s, is still flying high at number one and tonight showed exactly why,” Smith added. “Please download CARACAL now x and check them out on tour – you won’t regret it.”
Disclosure also gave Smith a shoutout, thanking him and other special guests Lion Babe and Talib Kewl for showing up. “L.A… WOW!! Our first arena show ever and the first show of the tour,” the duo wrote. “Thank you for being amazing as always. Such a great night ⭐️ Big love to @lionbabe @brenpix & @samsmithworld.”
Smith is currently hoping to have his next hit with his James Bond them song “Writing’s On the Wall” for the forthcoming Spectre.
Spectre will hit theaters Nov. 6.
