Sally Struthers must report to the York County Superior Court in Alfred, Maine on Sept. 23 to face charges regarding a DUI arrest in September of 2012.
Struthers, who stared as Gloria Stivic in the 70s hit All In The Family, was in Maine last fall performing in the musical 9 to 5 at the Ogunquit Playhouse when she was reportedly pulled over by police and charged with operating under the influence just after midnight on Sept. 12, 2012. At the time, she had allegedly refused to take a chemical sobriety test.
Struthers, who reportedly filed to have a trial by jury, has entered a plea of not guilty, as she “was induced to refuse to submit to a chemical test based on erroneous information provided by the law enforcement,” according to a motion filed by Struthers’ attorney. The motion also claims that the officer had no reason to believe that Struthers was driving under the influence in the first place, and calls for the judge to suppress any statements made by Struthers while in police custody.
At the time of her arrest, Struthers’ rep released a statement denying that the actress had been driving under the influence.
“Sally is working and she is fine. We deny these charges,” the rep told Us Weekly.
