Ryan Seacrest Knocked Down by Excited Contestant Daniel Thomas On ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Ryan Seacrest experienced an unexpected tumble during a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune when an overjoyed contestant accidentally knocked him to the ground.

The incident occurred during the bonus round. Contestant Daniel Thomas solved a challenging puzzle in the final seconds of the timer, earning a $40,000 bonus and bringing his total winnings to $71,950. Overcome with excitement, Thomas gave Seacrest an enthusiastic hug, unintentionally sending the host to the floor.

“Oh my gosh! Are you OK?” Thomas asked, visibly concerned.

Seacrest, laughing, reassured him, “I’m good! I’m good!” The show’s narrator added humor, saying, “Daniel, easy on our host, but celebrate with $40,000!”

The puzzle, under the category “living things,” was “guppies,” which Thomas guessed just before time ran out.

Reflecting on his last-second success, Thomas said, “I was looking up at the used letter board, and I saw ‘P’ and it just popped into my head.”

Seacrest joked about the moment, backing away playfully from Thomas and later introducing the segment alongside Vanna White, saying, “Throw me over, tackle me — I’m totally fine with it.”

The show shared the moment on its official YouTube channel, where fans praised Seacrest’s professionalism and humor in handling the unexpected situation.

This wasn’t the only notable moment on Wheel of Fortune recently. Earlier this season, former contestant Rhea Mathew was surprised with a marriage proposal on stage. Believing she was there to help celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary, Mathew solved a puzzle reading, “Will you marry me?” before her boyfriend appeared to propose.
