Ryan Lochte Gets Reality Show Deal
Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, 25, is getting his own reality show. E! has ordered six episodes of the new series, What Would Ryan Lochte Do?
The show's goal is to take viewers "inside the unpredictable and offbeat life of the 2012 London Olympic Games’ breakout star," according to Entertainment Weekly. Lochte's training regimen will be showcased, as will his search for love.
“He is an incredibly endearing personality who is sexy, entertaining and fun,” E! President Suzanne Kolb said in a statement. “Watching this show, I believe people will fall into three categories: they want to be him, sleep with him or mother him.”
Reporters were able to see a sneak peek of the show, and Lochte apparently came off as "more than a little dense," according to EW.
"I don't even know what is a douchebag," Lochte reportedly says in the episode. "I don't even know what it means." Lochte was named America's Sexiest Douchebag by the website Jezebel last August.
Lochte has won 11 Olympic medals in his career (five gold, three silver and three bronze). Seven of these medals were for individual performances—a record second to only Michael Phelps in men's swimming.
What Would Ryan Lochte Do? is scheduled to premiere in April.
