Russian Mercenary Boss Yevgeny Prigozhin Mocks Putin’s Failures: ‘A Complete A–hole’

Wagner Group boss Yevgeny Prigozhin openly mocked Russian President Vladimir Putin during Russia’s Victory Day Parade, lamenting about ammo shortages in the war on Ukraine.

According to a translation from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Prigozhin recorded a video complaining about the progress of Russia’s war effort. He asked how the country would be able to win if Putin turns out to be a “complete a–hole.”

Releasing the nearly half-hour-long video on Russia’s Victory Day Parade is noteworthy as the parade, which commemorates the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in 1945, was smaller than usual, only featuring one tank, no air force and 8000 military personnel who were not soldiers.

As Putin was delivering a speech calling its people to be “proud” of the Russian troops fighting in Ukraine, Prigozhin described how they fled the battlefield and accused them of “abandoning their positions.”

These comments were not Prigozhin’s first attempts to “upstage Putin’s authority.” According to the ISW, this could create a precedent for individuals to criticize Putin directly.

Leaked U.S. military documents suggest that Putin may be suffering from cancer.

Prigozhin also announced that the Wagner Group would continue to fight in Bakhmut after previously threatening to withdraw troops due to Russia’s Ministry of Defense not supplying sufficient ammunition.

He has fought with Russian generals in recent weeks as his forces, which are mostly made of mercenaries and conscripted convicts, have been dying in Bakhmut. On Tuesday, he doubled down on his “treason” allegations against Russian military officials, suggesting that they were the “main enemy” of Russia rather than Ukraine.
