Rupert Sanders, Kristen Stewart’s Ex-Fling, Served Divorce Papers By Liberty Ross

Rupert Sanders, the director Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson with over the summer, was served divorce papers by his wife, Liberty Ross.

Ross, 34, a victim of Sanders’ infidelity, has filed for divorce from the Snow White and the Huntsman director. Sanders, 41, has reportedly filed his response to the petition, seeking joint custody of their two children who are five and seven years of age. Bell is also seeking joint custody of the children, along with spousal support and reimbursement for legal fees.

Last summer, the cheating scandal involving Stewart, 22, and her married director dominated the tabloid headlines. The Twilight actress, involved with her franchise costar Pattinson, 26, enraged fans of the vampire saga and its leading man. The coverage of Stewart’s indiscretions even led to the popularity of the term “slut-shaming” to describe the phenomena that resulted in Stewart taking on the most backlash. Longtime Stewart mentor, Jodie Foster, rose up in defense of Stewart.

In the aftermath of the affair, Stewart and Pattinson appeared to immediately split while Sanders and Bell seemed to opt to work through it. Apparently, while Stewart and Pattinson started to mend their romance, the married couple was headed towards divorce after four years of marriage. “They gave it a shot for the kids, [but] she was just so angry,” an insider revealed to People. “She’s the kind of person who wouldn’t really ever get over it.”
