Rudy Giuliani’s Son Is Trying To Stop His Father’s Yankees World Series Rings From Being Seized By His Creditors

Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, is attempting to stop his father’s New York Yankees World Series rings from being used to pay a $148 million judgment against him.

On December 15, 2023, a jury in Washington, D.C., ordered Giuliani to pay two Georgia election workers $148 million for publicly asserting that Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, two Georgia election workers, engaged in election fraud.

In September, Freeman and Moss won their lawsuit against Donald Trump’s former lawyer and sought to seize his apartment in Manhattan and personal property, including his New York Yankees’ memorabilia, to pay the bill.

According to court papers, the former Georgia election workers want the former mayor to turn over select property, including the Yankees World Series rings from the Yankees’ wins in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000, so that they could collect on the 2023 judgment.

According to a federal bankruptcy court filing made in February, Giuliani spent $60,000 on three Yankees World Series rings, jewelry, clothing, furniture and other personal items.

In a recent bankruptcy filing, Giuliani listed three of the rings as personal property, part of a jewelry collection that costs almost $30,000 and contains luxury watches.

However, in the Manhattan federal court filing on October 8, Andrew’s lawyers claimed that “an order requiring transfer of these rings to Plaintiffs would permanently deprive Andrew of his ownership in them.”

Manhattan federal Judge Lewis Liman allowed Andrew to intervene in this case to stake his claim on the World Series rings. In the court filings, Andrew claimed that his dad gave him the rings on the night of his 74th birthday celebration in May 2018.

“He said to me, in substance and in part, ‘I told you when I got there that they would be yours someday, and I want to give them to you now,'” the filings stated. “As a child and young adult, I had spent many nights with my father watching Yankees games and bonding over our love for the team, and I was excited about receiving the rings.”

Andrew also said they agreed the ex-mayor would temporarily keep one of the rings.

In addition to the court papers, he included a photo of himself, his father and his then-wife, Judith Giuliani, holding the rings shown inside wooden boxes the night they had been given to him.

“My understanding then and today is that these four World Series rings were a gift from my father and that they have belonged to me since May 26, 2018,” the filing argues.
