Rudy Giuliani’s New Mugshot In Arizona Fraud Case Draws Comparisons To The Joker

Local officials in Arizona have released a mugshot of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani after Giuliani was indicted on state charges for his role in conspiring to overturn the 2020 election results in the state.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office revealed the mugshot on Monday, after Giuliani’s virtual arraignment on May 21. Giuliani was required to appear in person for booking procedures and has since confirmed posting a $10,000 cash bond.

Many observers on social media said the photo made him look like The Joker from Batman.

A grand jury in Arizona indicted Giuliani, along with other Trump allies, in connection with an investigation into alleged efforts to change the results of the 2020 presidential vote in the state. The charges include conspiracy, fraud and forgery.

So-called “fake electors” were also named in the indictment, as well as former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, who has also pleaded not guilty.

In an interview, Giuliani said that, as he left the Maricopa County Superior Court, he expressed confidence that the case would be dismissed on constitutional grounds. He described the charges as a “complete misuse of the criminal process to interfere with the 2024 election.” The former New York City mayor said he had no regrets about his actions related to the election interference case, saying he was “very, very proud of it.”

Giuliani’s spokesperson, Ted Goodman, also defended the former mayor and called the charges “outlandish,” asserting that Giuliani “will be fully vindicated.”

Arizona was one of seven states where “alternate electors” signed paperwork falsely claiming a winner different from the certified result.

This latest development adds to the growing legal challenges faced by Giuliani, as he also faces charges related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia, where he has also pleaded not guilty.

The Washington, D.C., bar result voted to disbar Giuliani for lying in court multiple times.
