Secret recordings disclose that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani had no plans to marry his reported girlfriend, Maria Ryan.

Ryan is president of Giuliani Communications, the company overseeing his podcasts, which he hosts with her, and his other media interests.

A transcript of the recordings was given in a New York court as part of a $10 million sexual harassment lawsuit taken against Giuliani by former employee Noelle Dunphy.

In one of Dunphy’s recordings, made on December 19, 2019, Giuliani allegedly talked about Ryan and her closeness with her family.

“She has this tremendous connection to her family, and she loves me,” the former lawyer noted. “But she can’t leave her family, including her husband.”

He then mentioned no tension between himself and Ryan’s husband, Bob Ryan.

“So, I had Thanksgiving dinner with them again,” he recalled. “Bob made Thanksgiving dinner for me. Then last Sunday, Maria got sick for about four days, and she was in the hospital …You know who took her home from the hospital? Bob and me.”

Giuliani also recalled Ryan saying she and him could get married and Bob could live with them.

“‘If we get married, could Bob live – could Bob live with us,'” the former mayor said in the tape, quoting Ryan. “‘You seem – the two of you seem to get along so well.’ But this is the weirdest f—ing thing. We’ve had this affair for two years, and I’m friendly with her husband. Can’t even figure it out.”

Lawyers for Giuliani’s creditors have labeled Maria as his “reported girlfriend” in bankruptcy filings and frequently questioned if she was involved in hiding Giuliani’s assets, an assertion that she strongly contradicted.

“I am not his girlfriend,” Ryan stated, replying to the transcript. “I consider him one of my best friends.”

On Monday, Michael Ragusa, Giuliani’s head of security, told Newsweek that Ryan was not Giuliani’s girlfriend and they were just business partners.

“Dr. Maria Ryan is Mayor Giuliani’s business partner and nothing more,” Ragusa said. “Any reports of her being his girlfriend are false rumors made up by the mayor’s enemies to damage his reputation and anyone associated with him.”

On July 2, Giuliani was formally disbarred in New York for lying in court.

In early August, Judge Sean Lane rejected Giuliani’s bankruptcy case, ruling that he was vague about his assets.

The ruling had been in favor of former Georgia election workers Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman, whom the former lawyer owes $148 million after he was found guilty of accusing them of fraud.

Lane ruled that Giuliani neglected to turn over any financial information about his companies, never submitted monthly reports, and initially hid a deal he had made for his upcoming book.
