Kate Middleton and Prince William’s firstborn child and heir to the throne should have already been born by now, as the Duchess of Cambridge is already passed her due date.
Though it had previously been reported that the royal baby was due July 19, that report was “not true,” a source told Us Weekly. The source added, "Kate’s due date has already passed."
Kate and William fled London and Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace due to the extreme heat last weekend and the lack of central air conditioning in the palace. They’ve been staying at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury – 50 miles outside the city.
Even if the royal baby had been born early, the palace staff would have been ready to welcome it. They’ve been “on call every day and night in July for this,” according to a palace insider. “There is nothing left to prepare or plan for.”
Staff members at London’s St. Mary’s Hospital are also ready for the birth and have been warned to forgo alcohol until the baby comes, as the baby is expected any day now. Kate is expected to give birth to her and William’s child in the hospital's posh Lindo Wing.
