Alongside Sarah Palin, Ted Koppel and Dick Cheney, Roy Moore is another famous name to be tricked into an interview with Borat‘s Sacha Baron Cohen. Cohen has been collecting interviews for his new Showtime series Who Is America? which will air on July 15.
Moore said in a statement that he “did not know Sacha Cohen or that a Showtime TV series was being planned to embarrass, humiliate, and mock not only Israel, but also religious conservatives such as Sarah Palin, Joe Walsh, and Dick Cheney.”

Additionally, he said he wasn’t paid for the appearance aside from his traveling expenses. The former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama is firing back at the comedian for his “trickery, deception and dishonesty.”
“I don’t need Sacha Cohen to tell me who America is, but I can tell him that America is a proud Nation which sprang from humble beginnings and a strong belief in God, virtue, and morality,” he said. “As an American, I would never hide my identity and deceive others only to mock and ridicule them as this Showtime Series is designed to do.”
He also said that if the interview airs on Showtime he plans to sue.
Palin also went after the comedian, saying the “joke” was “truly sick” by mocking United States military service members by allegedly disguising himself as a wounded veteran.
In response to Palin’s Facebook statement, Cohen replied to her in a tweet as one of the characters of his new show:
Palin also stated that Cohen’s people had intentionally dropped her and her daughter off at the wrong airport so they’d miss their flight back to Alaska.
See below how Twitterdom has reacted to the chaos, many taking to sarcasm in light of the dupes.
