Comedian Rosie O’Donnell has ripped newlyweds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez for their extravagant three-day celebration, branding it a gross display of their excessive wealth.

O’Donnell was in the news earlier this year for moving to Ireland to escape Donald Trump’s presidency.

Bezos and Sánchez’s wedding festivities lasted from June 27 to June 29 and reportedly cost over $50 million. The event, which took place in Venice, has drawn widespread criticism, with Venice residents protesting Bezos to such a degree that he and Sánchez were forced to move their wedding to a different venue weeks before the date. Since the star-studded event – which was attended by Oprah Winfrey, Mick Jagger and Kim Kardashian, among many others – ended, many celebrities have voiced their disgust with the overindulgent celebration. It can be assumed that these A-listers, such as Charlize Theron and Megyn Kelly, were not invited to the wedding.

O’Donnell has joined this list of celebrities, taking to her newsletter on Substack to share her scathing perspective on the event.

In a lengthy poem entitled “Jeff’s Wedding,” with the subtitle “God help us,” O’Donnell slammed Bezos for his lack of morality. The first stanza of her poem read, “It turned my stomach / Seeing all these billionaires / Gathering in the gross excess of it all / the show of it.”

She continued in the next stanza, “Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos / Really – how is that possible / He treats his employees with disdain / By any metric he is not a nice man.”

O’Donnell continued to proclaim her disgust for another 23 stanzas, calling attention to the New York City Pride march that took place on June 29, and speculating that such celebrations of the LGBTQ community might be banned by next year. She cautioned, “Don’t roll ur eyes / And look away / Its happening / It’s here.”

O’Donnell further called out President Donald Trump, saying his “evil plan is working,” and stressing the the Big Beautiful Bill will “kill people / Period end of sentence.”

She lamented that as the world changes, she feels confined to her sadness and disappointment and will waste away the hours in bed. She closed the poem, “Though we really did / Try to make it / Something inside has died / And I cant hide / I just cant fake it.”
