Longtime Donald Trump foe, Rosie O’Donnell lead a rally outside the White House this morning.
O’Donnell mocked the style of many Trump speeches, blatantly exaggerating the number of people in the crowd. She then called out the media for accepting Trump’s “lies” and “normalizing” his actions.
“Look at this crowd of 1.8 million people,” O’Donnell said to the crowd of clearly around 200. “This is Donald Trump math, ladies and gentlemen. You say, it the media buys it.”
She quoted the Declaration of Independence and said, “This is not Russia.” She condemned the media for not calling out Trump. “We have seen what you have done, sir,” O’Donnell yelled. “We have seen your connections with Russia — the game is over. The Internet rules — all media is universal. The truth matters, even if our major media companies will not call him a liar, we will. He lies!”
The feud between O’Donnell and Trump goes back more than a decade. In 2006, O’Donnell referred to the businessman as a “snake-oil salesman” and Trump never let it go. He made fun of her appearance multiple times since, even during the presidential debates. When Megyn Kelly asked Trump about using such language as “fat pics,” “slobs” and “disgusting animals” in reference to women, Trump responded, “only Rosie O’Donnell.”
And in a debate against Hillary Clinton, Trump addressed the feud in a non-diplomatic way. “[I] said very tough things to her and I think everybody would agree she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her.”
In 2014, O’Donnell told People that “the Trump stuff” was “the most bullying I have ever experienced in my life.”
