Comedian Roseanne Barr made controversial statements when she appeared at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Arizona.
At the event, described by the conservative group as a celebration of constitutional rights and freedoms, Barr took the stage and expressed her support for former President Donald Trump.
“I just wanna say that I’m just all in,” she started. “Because I know if I ain’t all in, they’re going to put my a– in a gulag. If he loses, I know what they’re gonna do.”
Barr continued, “And I don’t wanna go to a re-education camp and have to give all my money to a bunch of losers that never know how [to] get a job. I don’t care about them.”
“If we don’t stop these horrible communists, do you hear me? I’m asking you to hear me!… Stalinists! Communists! With a huge helping of Nazi fascists thrown in. Plus one caliphate to replace every Christian democracy on Earth now! Occupy! Do you know that?”
As the speech progressed, the initial enthusiasm from the crowd dampened, and they grew increasingly quiet. Barr called for the truth, expressed frustration with both political parties and accused them of corruption and deceit.
A video of her speech, shared on social media, gained significant attention and sparked widespread ridicule. Critics online pointed out the incoherence of Barr’s statements and expressed disbelief at her conspiratorial claims.
Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest has faced its share of controversy, and Rolling Stone magazine described the event, along with Barr’s appearance, as “infested with antisemitism.”
Barr has a history of controversial and conspiratorial statements. In a recent podcast episode, she claimed that nobody died in the Holocaust, and said, “That’s the truth. It should happen… Six million Jews should die right now because they cause all the problems in the world. But, it never happened. It never happened.”
In the past, her sitcom was canceled by ABC due to her racist comments about a former adviser to Barack Obama and her claims that George Soros was a Nazi sympathizer.
