Former porn star Ron Jeremy will be declared incompetent to stand trial for more than 30 counts of sexual assault.
Following allegations from at least 20 women since the summer of 2020, Jeremy will be declared unfit on January 17 and placed in a state-run hospital.
L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson said that mental health experts from the prosecutors and Jeremy’s legal team established his condition. There was no evidence present that the former porn star was faking his illness. These experts based their conclusion on medical documents as well as interviews with Jeremy, his relatives and L.A. County deputies who were in contact with him during his incarceration.

Thompson also stated that he is not improving, meaning criminal proceedings are suspended as the court wouldn’t be able to get a guilty plea from him if necessary.
Jeremy’s alleged crimes date back to 1996 with victims ranging from the ages of 15 to 51. He was charged with “12 counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of sexual battery by restraint, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person and one count each of lewd act upon a child under the age of 14 or 15, sodomy by use of force and assault with intent to commit rape.”
Jeremy pleaded not guilty.
This is not the first time Jeremy has been accused of sexual assault. In 2020, Jeremy was arrested over four cases of sexual assault with 25 new complaints made the day those charges were made.
Jeremy is scheduled to be in court on October 12. He remains in jail as he has been unable to post the $6.6 million bail.
