Robin Thicke Releases ‘Blurred Lines’ LP, Filming Video For 'Give It 2 U'

Robin Thicke, hot off the success of the triple platinum “Blurred Lines” single released his LP of the same name on Monday. Though excited about dropping the rest of the tracks, Thicke's also admittedly nervous that they won’t stack up against the catchy lead single off the album.

“One minute I'm very excited, the next I'm terribly nervous. Anytime you release your music or you put something out there that you care very deeply about, you know, you're always a little scared," he told MTV News. "But for the most part, I'm always excited to give people my new music."

Thicke’s Blurred Lines LP includes a variety of styles of music, from smooth R&B to more funkier sounds and some more club-friendly dance tracks. Among the collaborators on the album are Pharrell, T.I., Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Timbaland and will.i.am. “I never try to be just one thing, or do one thing. I always try to mix up all different styles of music," he said. "I think it's the good, and bad, that you can get something very fresh and never know what's coming next on my albums."

Thicke, who had his first hit in 2003 with “When I Get You Alone,” has had ups and downs as a recording artist, but is currently at the top of his game. “Blurred Lines” charted #1 on the Hot 100 chart, as well as on the Pop Songs and Hot R&B/Hip Hop song charts. The song has also earned him three 2013 MTV Video Music Award nominations – Video of the Year, Best Male Video and Best Collaboration.

Diane Martel, the director behind the music video for ”Blurred Lines,” is also set to direct Thicke’s video for “Give It 2 U,” which will feature Lamar and 2 Chainz.
