Robin Thicke seems finally ready to say goodbye to his estranged wife Paula Patton, giving up on trying to woo her back and preparing for divoce.
Thicke has made no secret of his desire to reunite with Patton, with whom he’s been with since his teenage years. After making numerous public apologies and dedications since their separation in February, Thicke released an album dedicated and named for her. Now, however, Thicke has allegedly realized there’s no hope for him to save his marriage.
With little chance of a reconciliation, Thicke has his attorney’s working on a financial settlement with a separation of their assets, according to TMZ. Though he’s gearing up for an inevitable divorce, Thicke has allegedly not hired a divorce attorney and plans to wait for Patton to file.
Adding fuel to the rumors that the couple is heading for a divorce sooner rather than later is that they’ve recently put their Los Angeles pad on the market, according to Variety. They’ve listed the three-bedroom, 3,158 square foot home at $2.985 million – more than $2 million than the price Thicke’s father Alan Thicke paid for the property in 1990. Alan Thicke had given his son the deed when he wed Patton in 2005.
Earlier in July, Thicke admitted on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning program that he hadn’t seen Patton in four months. He also admitted that their split was his fault, though cheating wasn’t the reason that they’re no longer together.
“[Cheating] is not why we're apart," Thicke said, though not saying it wasn’t at least part of the problem. "We're apart because we just couldn't be together anymore for a while. There's a hundred different reasons, there isn't just one. There's a long list… I changed, and I got a little too selfish, a little too greedy, and little too full of myself."
Thicke and Patton have been married for nine years and have a son, Julian Fuego Thicke, together.
