Actor Robert Pattinson said that he is “kind of” engaged to singer FKA Twigs while speaking with Howard Stern on the radio host’s Sirius XM show.

After Stern called FKA Twigs, whose real name is Tahlia Barnett, Pattinson’s fiancé, he asked, “You’re engaged, right?”

To which Pattinson hesitantly responded, “Yeah, kind of.”

Pattinson has been notoriously quiet when it comes to his dating life after his relationship with his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart was heavily scrutinized – at one point, now-President Donald Trump sent out a handful of tweets concerning their relationship, encouraging Pattinson to “do better.”

“It’s one of the most frustrating things in the world because you want to be able to [show it off],” he said of his relationship. “You kind of get stuck in this position where you have to make decisions whether you want to let the kind of crazy people in.”

The 31-year-old actor has been reportedly dating Barnett since 2014 and their engagement was rumored in April of 2015, which is why Stern referred to her as his fiancé.

When speaking with the legendary radio host, Pattinson also discussed trolls online who harass him for dating Barnett, who is half Jamaican.

“I think it’s just professional trolls,” said Pattinson. “They get so addicted to kind of just wanting to cause hurt and pain on someone.”

“It’s a faceless enemy.”

While on the show, the actor also talked about his time filming the Twilight trilogy.

According to Pattinson, he almost got fired for being stubborn about his character. While the producers wanted Pattinson to approach his Edward Cullen character with a little more light, Pattinson thought a teenage love drama shouldn’t be so happy.

“I remember the producers giving me a copy of the book,” Pattinson said. “Every single instance where my character smiles and stuff, they’d highlighted.”

Pattinson says that he went back, with a different colored highlighter, and pointed out all the times his character frowns. His agents came to the set and told him, “You have to do the opposite of what you’re doing now or else you’re going to get fired today.”

Nonetheless, he now admits that the series is remembered for being brooding, dark, and emo, which is what he wanted in the first place.
