Robert Kennedy Jr., an independent presidential candidate, had a close relationship with notorious convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Kennedy reportedly had access to Epstein’s Manhattan office in 1993 and even socialized with him at The Pierre Hotel.
Kennedy admitted to two past trips on Epstein’s private plane and claimed that one was to Florida and the other for a “fossil hunting” expedition in South Dakota.
He stated that he never traveled alone on Epstein’s jet and always accompanied his wife and children.
However, discrepancies have been found in Kennedy’s account when it is compared to the description of his relationship with Epstein provided by longtime family friend Christina Oxenberg.
Kennedy’s claim that his trip to Florida in 1993 was with his wife and children contradicts the fact that at that time, he was married to Emily Ruth Black and had two children with her. Kennedy divorced Black the next year and married Mary Richardson, with whom he had four children.
Kennedy claimed it was Richardson who had “some kind of relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell.” Maxwell was Epstein’s confidante, who was his girlfriend in the early 1990s and later helped him procure young women.
Oxenberg’s account suggests that Maxwell was already part of Kennedy’s social circle before his relationship with Richardson began.
Oxenberg, a member of the Serbian royal family, revealed that she first met Maxwell in 1990 at Kennedy’s sister Kerry‘s wedding to Andrew Cuomo.
Oxenberg’s father, a longtime friend of the Kennedys, had close ties to the family. Oxenberg further detailed how Kennedy hired her and another woman to organize an event for him in 1993, for which he provided them with an office space in Epstein’s Madison Avenue offices. Epstein’s companies were registered at the same address, and Maxwell frequently appeared in the shared space.
Oxenberg recalled that Maxwell informed her she had arranged for Kennedy to take a trip on Epstein’s private jet. She mentioned that the trip was framed as a visit to see dinosaur bones in South Dakota, but Epstein had ulterior motives.
Oxenberg claimed that Kennedy and his children waited on the plane for hours while Epstein disappeared with a woman who boarded in Chicago. It should be noted that Kennedy did not have a total of four children until 1995, which contradicts his statement about the fossil-hunting trip.
Kennedy’s campaign dismissed suggestions that he was aware of Epstein’s sex-trafficking activities at the time and did not address questions about his use of Epstein’s office in 1993. The campaign stated that the trips took place before Epstein’s criminal behavior became public knowledge.
Oxenberg’s account challenges Kennedy’s attempts to downplay his connection to Epstein, as it indicates a deeper relationship between the two.
Epstein, a convicted sex offender, was known for the relationships he cultivated with influential figures such as Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew.
Epstein was charged with sex trafficking in 2019 and died in his jail cell shortly afterward. Oxenberg proposed a theory that Epstein enticed powerful individuals into situations with the young women he employed to exploit them.
Kennedy is running a third-party campaign for president in 2024 – but it is being met with hostility from both sides. His candidacy has been condemned by his own family, and Donald Trump Jr. has called him “a Democrat plant.”
