Robert Durst, the alleged killer featured in HBO’s The Jinx, will soon be heading to Los Angeles for the murder trial.

Robert Durst Heading To LA

Durst, 72, is accused of killing his longtime writer friend Susan Berman.

In order to face the charge, Durst has to be extradited from Louisiana, where he is currently being held on federal gun charge, by August 15, reported USA Today. Dick De Guerin, Durst’s lawyer, explained the situation this way:

“The agreement we reached with the prosecutors in Los Angeles is part of Bob Durst’s efforts to go to trial in the Susan Berman murder case as soon as the Louisiana charges are resolved. Bob Durst does not know who killed Susan Berman and does not know who did. He wants to prove his innocence as soon as he gets that chance.”

Durst became a household name earlier this year when Andrew Jarecki’s documentary series The Jinx premiered. The docuseries give viewers a look linto Durst’s life, including his alleged murder of Susan and his late wife Kathy. The most shocking moment comes at the end of the series, when Durst, not realizing that he forgot to shut off his mic, says, “What the hell did I do? Killed ’em all, of course.”
