Talking animals maintain their Box Office dominance for the second week in a row, with the tropical-themed Rio, the latest animated feature from Pixar competitors Blue Sky Studios (Ice Age and Robots), supplanting Russell Brand's talking rabbit Hop for the top position, mustering an impressive $40 million in its opening weekend. Though less staggeringly than last week, Brand, the controversial comedian, former BBC radio presenter and recent American import, still pops up twice in the top ten, with Hop falling at number three, and a remake of the Dudley Moore classic Arthur, co-starring Jennifer Garner and Greta Gerwig, at number six. The real life shark attack movie Soul Surfer, starring AnnaSophia Robb as Bethany Hamilton, returns for a second week to the number four slot, bringing in $7.4 million; hotly anticipated horror fourquel Scream 4 reunites David Arquette and Courteney Cox to take the number two spot, knocking last week's second-best earner, high octane sci-fi/action girl warrior Hanna (Saorise Ronan), down three rungs to number five with $7.4 million; another horror film, this time of the supernatural order, Insidious, drops from five to seven with $6.9 million, and rounding out the list are Jake Gyllenhaal's time traveling vehicle Source Code at number eight, medieval satire Your Highness at number ten and the only real surprise hit in Robert Redford's Abraham Lincoln assassin biopic The Conspirator falling at number nine, opening with $3.9 million. —ZACHARY BLOCK
