Rihanna and ASAP Rocky welcomed their second baby on August 3 – another baby boy.

Their first son, RZA Athelston Mayers, was born last year in May. Their second child’s name has not been disclosed but reportedly also starts with the letter “R,” just like his brother’s.

Rihanna’s privacy surrounding her children’s lives is not a surprise. Last year, the “Umbrella” singer did not reveal her child’s name herself until his first birthday, when she made a birthday post on Instagram. Rihanna is reportedly extremely protective of her children, as she only allowed her family and friends to see RZA shortly after he was born.

Since becoming a mother, it also seems like Rihanna has evolved as a person as she now takes creative inspiration from motherhood. Before making the decision to perform at the Super Bowl in February this year, she credited becoming a mother as her source of energy.

“When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything. And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all,” she told Apple Music. “It’s important for my son to see that.”

She announced her second pregnancy during the half-time show during the Super Bowl, wearing an all-red outfit and showcasing her baby bump.

Rihanna hinted to Vogue that she might have up to four children.

“I’ll have kids — three or four of ’em. … They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives. But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child,” Rihanna said. “That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love.”
