Rihanna will be featured in The Voice’s next and ninth season as a multi-team advisor, NBC revealed on Thursday on Twitter.
Rihanna, who has a new album in the works, will appear as consultant during the Knockout Rounds of The Voice. Her role will be to help the coaches, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, Gwen Stefani or Blake Shelton work with their contestants during rehearsals — previous consultants include Taylor Swift and Chris Martin.
It was previously announced that the country singer Brad Paisley would be Shelton’s advisor during the Battle Rounds. Williams will be advised by Missy Elliott, Stefani by Selena Gomez, and Levine by John Fogerty.
The Voice’s ninth season will premiere on Sep. 21 on NBC.
