Rihanna was unveiling her latest perfume at a Brooklyn Macy’s Monday when she was confronted by a group of animal activists.
While Rihanna promoted her new scent, RiRi by Rihanna, the activists barged into the area holding up signs and chanting, “Shame on Rihanna” “Fifty dead animals – one fur coat,” “Who died for you coat,” and “Skinned alive!”
Rihanna has been promoting her new scent on Instagram for the last couple of weeks.
“Be one of the FIRST to get your pretty hands on my newest fragrance #RiRibyRihanna,” she wrote in an early post.
“NEW YORK!!! Come hang with me at @MACYS downtown #BROOKLYN on August 31st and try out my new @perfumesbyriri fragrance #RiRi,” Rihanna wrote to promote the event Monday.
Rihanna has yet to weigh in on the protesters at her event – however, at her perfume launch, she did weigh in on a possible Kanye West 2020 presidential run.
“I mean people are voting for [Donald] Trump. Who wouldn’t vote for Kanye?” Rihanna said to Entertainment Weekly. “I’m really, really related with his speech. His speech was incredible.”
