Rihanna & Azealia Banks Fight Over Trump Immigration Ban

Rapper Azealia Banks started a beef with Rihanna on social media after the Barbados-born singer spoke out against Donald Trump‘s immigration ban on Twitter.

Rihanna expressed her opinion about the executive order. “Disgusted!” she began. “The news is devastating! America is being ruined right before our eyes! What an immoral pig you have to be to implement such BS!!”

Banks took it upon herself to respond with a few paragraphs about why the ban will be good for America. In the process, she tried to take down Rihanna. “As far as Rihanna (who isn’t a citizen and can’t vote) and all the rest celebrities who are using their influence to stir the public, you lot really REALLY need to shut up and sit down,” she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. “Stop chastising the president.”

This is the not the first time Banks has found herself in an online controversy, and she is not one to keep her opinions to herself. Banks’ Twitter account is currently suspended for previous arguments she’s gotten into, including one with Zayn Malik where she hurled racist and homophobic slurs at the singer, who is straight.

Rihanna, however, is also not one to let her opponent have the last word. She shared a black and white photo of herself and captioned it, “the face you make when you an immigrant.”

Banks, in her typical offensive style, commented back, “What rihanna meant was ….. “I GREW UP PLAYING SOCCER IN A DIRT YARD WITH A COCONUT AND OPEN MY LEGS FOR ANY AND EVERY MOTHERF—ER WHO I THINK I CAN GET TO WRITE ME SONGS OR BUY ME DRUGS. I CAN BARELY PERFORM BECAUSE I LINE MY BROWN BLUNTS WITH CRYSTAL METH AND AM OFTEN VERY WINDED ON STAGE.”

Keeping composed, Rihanna posted another photo, this time of a person with an American flag over his face, with the caption, “the face you make when you screaming in an empty room.”

Banks has since deleted all her posts related to this short-lived beef.
