At long, long last we’re getting new music from Rihanna. After her 2016 album Anti, which was a significant creative departure from her previous records and her first album since departing Def Jam Records, fans have been waiting impatiently for more material.

The singer hasn’t just been twiddling her thumbs all this time, though. She has an extensive business portfolio, with one of her biggest being the Fenty Beauty brand which was founded in 2017, and has expanded into a profitable lingerie and skincare line as well.

She also had several huge acting roles since releasing ANTI, including as a cast member of Ocean’s 8 and a major role in the science fiction film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Rihanna is also a new mom, having had a child with the rapper A$AP Rocky.

Now with her Superbowl Halftime Show performance coming up, she is gearing up to finally release some music. Her first track after this hiatus is titled “Lift Me Up,” and it’s part of the soundtrack for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It is set to premiere this Friday, and her announcement has already taken the internet by storm.

The original Black Panther had an excellent soundtrack that featured singles by several major artists, including their lead single “All The Stars” which was performed by Kendrick Lamar and SZA. So far, Rihanna is the only artist they’ve announced so far, and if she’s the first, then they must have some crazy tracks coming up.

Wakanda Forever also used music to make a huge splash with its incredible first teaser trailer. The teaser began with a somber cover of the Bob Marley tune “No Woman, No Cry,” and then slowly transitions as the action built to start playing “Alright” by Kendrick Lamar. \

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release countrywide on November 11.
