Far-right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer has accused Elon Musk of censorship and reached out to Donald Trump for help.
With over 14 million followers on X, Loomer has been one of Trump’s most outspoken advocates over the years. She even traveled with Trump on the campaign trail in 2024, appearing with him on Sept. 11 – despite the fact that she has said the 9/11 attack was an inside job.
Loomer, supported by her followers, has claimed for months that her posts on X are being hidden from her audience and her account is no longer producing revenue. She accused Musk of being responsible for her account’s sudden decline due to her past criticism of the “tech oligarch.”
Last month, Loomer launched an attack against the Tesla CEO with a constant stream of accusatory posts.
Musk had previously responded to Loomer’s rants by reposting another X user’s speculation on the matter, stating, “Loomer is trolling for attention. Ignore.”
Shortly after, Loomer said that her verification badge had been removed. Now, she has extended her tirades to Trump, who made Musk a key adviser in his administration.
In a lengthy post to X, Loomer, 31, complained, “I worked my a– off to help President Trump get elected and now I am being retaliated against, censored, and deliberately financially attacked as an independent journalist by one of his admin officials.”
She went on, “A billionaire named @elonmusk is trying to rob me, a hard-working journalist who has been more loyal to Donald Trump than ANYONE, of the revenue needed to fund my reports through my own supporters’ subscriptions to my work.”
She asserted, “It’s not Elon’s money. It was the money of my own supporters who by their own free will wanted to support my work. It’s also my livelihood.”
Loomer’s verification badge has returned on X, but she still claims that her account has been shadow-banned, and she is not making any money.
On Jan. 20, during the inauguration ceremony, Loomer wrote, “All of the tech oligarchs are seated next to the Trump family inside the U.S. Capitol for the inauguration…Big Tech all worked to destroy Trump for years. Now they have the best seats for the inauguration, right next to President Trump’s family.”
