Rapper Rick Ross released his new album Rather You Than Me on Tuesday and two songs in particular are sticking out.
Ross disses both Nicki Minaj and Birdman in multiple tracks on the album. “I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki/Instead of beefing with your dog you just give him some distance,” he rapped on the opening track “Apple of My Eye,” referring to the breakup between Minaj and Meek Mill.
Last week, Mill posted a photo on Instagram of himself with Ross, with the caption, “Rozay been told me don’t trust you” with the hashtag #ratheryouthanme.
Ross also riddled his song “Idols Become Rivals” with references to how Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman has been a disappointment. Lil Wayne has also been in a public feud with Birdman for years, and Ross raps about that as well. He later wrote a message on Instagram about Wayne and the rapper responded.
“The Level of respect and love that I have for WAYNE makes it hard to sit back and not speak on the situation,” wrote Ross. “The streets need you.Being a Boss means having the courage to say the things everybody thinking but scared to say.I can’t wait for you to hear it.Midnight.”
Lil Wayne responded with, “dam big bro that msg hit me in the heart and put the motivation on automatik start. I needed that. 1 boss 2 another.”
