Rick & Morty season three has finally been given a premiere date, and it is not very far away – July 30.
After an April Fool’s Day prank and some questionable rumors about a feud between creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, the third season has been announced. The show’s team hosted a livestream to reveal the newest trailer for the show’s new season, plus to give out the anticipated release date.
Just a few days ago, Harmon took to Twitter to assure fans that the show would definitely continue, and that it was the perfectionists in the writing room that caused the delay. “So that’s it,” he said. “We took too long writing. Totes regrets.”
The trailer featured a bunch of exciting new things, including a character named Pickle Rick and Morty’s sister becoming a giant, as well as a voiceover saying, “only a show this smart could be this stupid,” which sounds like the perfect lead in to a new season of Rick & Morty.
By the time season 3 airs, it will have been two years since the second season began airing. The show has since become a cult sensation. The upcoming season will consist of 10 episodes and their “darkest adventures yet.” Because the first episode was released on April 1, just 9 new episodes will be coming out.
