Though Rick & Morty season 3 ended just a few months ago, the production released a special Thanksgiving-themed short to remind viewers to be thankful for what they have.
The nearly two and a half minute clip explores the life of beloved character Mr. Poopybutthole. In a meta move, he finishes an episode of the show before picking up a photo album entitled “The Poop In My Pants.” Set to sentimental piano music, the short goes through the life and many events of Mr. Poopybutthole’s life, including meeting his wife, graduating from college, taking down the federation, losing his cat, and his wife having his son.
At the end, the fan-favorite character closes the album, and gets out of his chair. Before reaching for his cane, he looks into his kitchen where his wife is spoon-feeding his son. He looks on lovingly and decides to bypass the cane before joining his family in the kitchen.
A tearjerker is the last thing one would expect from Rick & Morty, but that is what Adult Swim provided for their Thanksgiving short. See it below.
