Richard Simmons Hospitalized After Signs Of ‘Bizarre Behavior’

Richard Simmons was reportedly taken to a Los Angeles hospital late Friday night — after his “bizarre conduct” worried guests at his Hollywood Hills home.

Simmons was behaving in an unusual manner just before midnight when someone at his Hollywood Hills home became alarmed and called 911, sources told TMZ.

Paramedics rushed to the home and evaluated Richard, determining he should go to a hospital for further examination by a doctor. TMZ reports that paramedics were not sure if he had suffered a stroke, is suffering from dementia or some other ailment.

Simmons agreed to be brought to the hospital and was driven to Cedars-Sinai — where he was discharged on Saturday.

Simmons has been a virtual recluse for three years — reportedly avoiding family and friends as well as the public eye.

In March, Simmons spoke up about why he’s chosen to stay away from the public and urged people not to worry about him.

“This is how I want to live my life right now,” Simmons admitted to ET. “And to all the people that are worried about me, please don’t be. If I was in any trouble, if I was hurting in any way, I would reach out. It is time right now for Richard Simmons to take care of Richard Simmons.”
