Richard Simmons’ Family Calls His Housekeeper ‘Greedy’ After She Petitions To Be Reinstated As Trustee Of His Estate

Richard Simmons’ family is opposing claims made by his house manager, Teresa Reveles, that she was pressured into withdrawing her role as a co-trustee of his estate.

On Wednesday, the fitness guru’s housekeeper filed a petition to be restated as co-trustee for Simmon’s estate.

The former friend and manager stated that she was misled by Richard’s brother, Lenny Simmons, who, in a “nefarious scheme,” asked her to sign documents that revoked her role as co-trustee while she was “at her most vulnerable” grieving Richard, who died on July 13.

Reveles added that she was never explicitly advised or informed about the purpose of the documents she was signing.

Days after the housekeeper filed to be reinstated, Simmons’ family released a statement claiming that Richard would be “heartbroken to learn of Teresa’s greed and insulted that she would diminish their three decades of supposed friendship in such a public way. Her actions threaten to harm Richard’s incredible legacy, which we are working hard to preserve.”

“The allegations in the petition are completely and demonstrably false, and we have informed her counsel of those facts. Teresa’s request to be reinstated as co-trustee was declined because co-trustees must work together in the best interests of the estate, and Teresa has shown by her actions that she does not share those interests,” the statement concluded.

Additionally, as noted in the statement, Reveles still lives at Simmons’ residence despite having her own home and has tried to charge the estate for her living expenses.

For now, Reveles has asked the court to prohibit Lenny from profiting from his brother’s image and prevent him from selling any of Richard’s possessions or property.

Just one day after his 76th birthday, Richard died in his Los Angeles home before being found by Reveles.

Authorities reported that his cause of death occurred from blunt traumatic injuries from a fall he suffered in his bathroom the evening before he died. His heart disease was an additional factor.

In July, Reveles said that when she discovered Richard, his hands were balled into fists, leading her to believe that his death was a result of a heart attack.

“When I saw him, he looked peaceful,” Reveles recalled.
