Richard Gere has been spotted with a new girlfriend, the much younger Spanish socialite Alejandra Silva.

Gere, 65, was photographed enjoying the sun in Italy with his new love, Silva, 32, best known as a Spanish socialite. The two have been spotted together a few times this summer, and have begun attending functions together. Gere and Silva attended the Shiseido and Vanity Fair Gala Dinner on June 17, and were photographed enjoying the beach on June 20. The couple made their red carpet debut on Wednesday, June 23, at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, where Gere received an award.

Gere’s newest relationship is making headlines, most notably due to their 33-year age difference, but also because of their enviable beach getaway, which included a relaxing and PDA-filled trip on a yacht off the coast of Acitrezza, Italy.

Gere was not only in town to accept an award, but also to promote his newest film, Time Out of Mind.

According to reports, Gere and Silva have been dating for about a year, but only recently made the decision to make their relationship public. “They’ve been together for a bout a year, but have been very private about it. Alejandra lives between Manhattan and Madrid and Richard has already been to see her a few times,” a source reportedly told Spain’s ABC.

Silva is reportedly the ex wife of Govind Friedland, with whom she has a young son named Albert, but little else is known about Gere’s new love. Meanwhile, Gere is currently in the middle of a divorce from his second wife, Carey Lowell. Lowell and Gere also share a 15-year-old son, Homer.
