A clip from a 2011 interview featuring rap mogul Sean Combs and Justin Bieber on Jimmy Kimmel Live! has resurfaced amid the rapper’s arrest.

The video begins with Jimmy Kimmel asking the pair how they became friends.

“We’ve become friends in a strange way, you know,” Combs replied before adding that Bieber was like “a little brother” to many people in the industry. “He’s not afraid to call and ask for advice,” he said. “He’s somebody that industry-wise, the record industry is a strong family. He’s one of the greatest kids you could ever know.”

Bieber then reached out to shake hands with Combs, and the pair laughed before Kimmel asked if Combs would buy the singer a car like he did for his son.

“He got me a Lamborghini,” Bieber responded. “I haven’t gotten it yet, though.”

Kimmel then asked Combs when the car would arrive, to which the rapper replied, “He had the Lamborghini for a day or two, and he had access to the house.”

“And he knows better than to be talking about what he does with big brother Puff on national television. Everything ain’t for everybody,” Combs said.

At the time, the comment was received innocently by those in attendance, but the remark has since been viewed more darkly after the rapper’s recent arrest.

In a separate resurfaced video of the pair, titled “JUSTIN BIEBER’s 48 HRS with DIDDY!!” Combs makes an additional comment that has since sparked concern:

“He’s having 48 hours with Diddy, him and his boy,” Combs said. “They’re having the times of their lives, like where wehanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream.”

On September 16, Combs was arrested and charged with racketeering conspiracy, trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. The rapper faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum sentence of life in prison if found guilty.

Bieber, so far, has been silent on his connections to Combs.
